| We would like to invite you to come and worship with us here at The Pavilion! My name is Tim Potate, and on June 10th 2007 my family, along with four other families, had our first service and have been growing close as a family and closer to God as a part of the body of Christ. We are a community of followers of Jesus Christ, committed to live by faith, to be known by love, and to be a voice of hope. The name of our community comes from our desire to tear down those walls that make us a religious institution, and to try to reach people wherever they are in their walk with God. I would like The Pavilion to be a place we can worship and grow together. God created you with a purpose...and for His purpose. The challenge is that sometimes life can get in the way of that purpose, and we're left feeling empty inside. God's promise was not one of an easy, pain free life, but one of a meaningful life worth living out loud; where, instead of just counting the days of our lives, we will live lives that count... by serving Him. We are striving to do just that! If you would like to be a part of our growing family, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or come and visit with us. | |
| Serving God By Serving Others
There's a lot going on with our Backpack Program-- activities and updates are here , so check it out.
Our Meals Ministry is also under way. For details and to see how you can help click here. We are also trying to help out A Gift of Love with donations of wide-rule paper. This ministry is providing book bags, school supplies, a new outfit & shoes to approximately 500 children in Douglas County. Please plan on joining us as we walk in the 4th of July parade. If you've never done this, it's a great experience & a lot of fun. We will hand out popsicles during the parade. We will meet saturday morning on Fairburn at 9:15. We are in spot 51 - hope you can join us! Please sign up to take snacks to the ICU at Wellstar Douglas(we will have them waiting for you on Sunday) and to help out our nursery worker, Traci, during the worship service.
Don't forget about our recycling program. Please bring any cardboard, paper, or plastic with you on Sunday morning. Traci Wood and April Jorgensen have graciously agreed to take it to the recycling center. | | Shaping and Sharpening Eph 6:10-17...Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Sunday Schools We currently have 1 Children's Sunday school class that is available for elementary school children. We are growing together under God's love and guidance. We do a lot of hands-on activities that encourage and teach us how to reach out to others, and share the love that God has so generously given us. We would love for your child to become a part of our family. Sunday school begins at 9:00. Pavilion Youth (anyone in grades 6-12) meets every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00am. Also, we meet every Wednesday at 7pm at Matthew and Amy Turner's, unless otherwise announced. We have lots of stuff going on, including skits, a mission trip, concerts, and more.....Come join the fellowship and fun as we grow with one another and learn more about our Daddy's love and how we can reflect His love to the world around us. Bring a friend! See you Sunday!
We also now offer a Sunday School class for Young Adults. It is geared toward college age to young marrieds. See Karen Pitts or Kasey Potate for more information. Real Life...real talk. Please join the discussion in our adult Sunday School class--9am--where we grow our faith and our knowledge through the original text...the Bible.
