Tim's Thoughts

Welcome...
I would like to personally invite you to come worship with us here at The Pavilion.  My name is Tim Potate; I'm the husband of 20 years to Ellie and father of Kasey, 18 and Timmy, 16.  I'm also a native of Douglas County.  God has given me a burning passion to start a church that will reach out into the community and share the gift that was so graciously given to us.  Regardless of where you are in your walk with God, I would like The Pavilion to be a place we can worship and grow together.  God created you with a purpose and for His purpose.  The problem is that sometimes life can get in the way of that and we're left feeling empty inside.  God's promise was not one of an easy, pain free life, but, one of a meaningful life, worth living out loud.  My hope is we can live out that life of faith together.  Where, instead of just counting the days of our life, we will live a life that counts by serving Him.  If you have any questions or would like to be a part of our growing family, please feel free to give me a call, or come and visit with us.

Tim

Serving God by serving others

We will be playing bingo with the residents at the Douglasville Nursing and Rehab. Center on November 15th at 10:00.  We always have a great time and come away blessed because of the time spent with the residents.

We have received a Christmas list for 10 children through A Gift of Love and 2 children from DEFACS.  Please check out the Angel Tree this Sunday and pick an ornament w/ a gift that you would like to purchase for these children.

We have started collecting items for Operation Christmas Child.  These shoe boxes are being sent to underprivileged children through Samaritan's Purse.  We will also be heading out to their warehouse to help sort & pack boxes on the evening of November 29th.

Please sign up to take snacks to the ICU at Wellstar Douglas(we will have them waiting for you on Sunday) and to help out our nursery worker, Traci, during the worship service.

We are helping A Gift of Love ministry by collecting a donation each month. For November we are collecting soup & boxes of oatmeal that have individual servings.

Don't forget about our recycling program, please bring any cardboard, paper or plastic with you on Sunday morning. Traci Wood and April Jorgensen have graciously agreed to carry it to the recycling center.

Eph 6:10-17...Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

                                                           Sunday Schools
We currently have 1 Children's Sunday school class that is available for elementary school children. We are growing together under God's love and guidance. We do a lot of hands on activities that encourage and teach us how to reach out to others and share the love that God has so generously given us. We would love for your child to become a part of our family. Sunday school begins at 9:00.

Pavilion Youth (anyone in grades 6-12) meets every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00am in the BIG ORANGE room across the street from Sutton Hall. Also, we meet every Wednesday at 7pm  in the same place, unless otherwise announced. We have lots of stuff going on, including skits, a mission trip, concerts, and more.....Come join the fellowship and fun as we grow with one another and learn more about our Daddy's love and how we can reflect His love to the world around us. Bring a friend! See you Sunday!

We also now offer a Sunday School class for Young Adults. It is geared toward college age to young marrieds. See Karen Pitts or Kasey Potate for more information.

Real Life...real talk. Please join the discussion in our adult Sunday School class--9am--where we grow our faith and our knowledge through the original text...the Bible.
